Applications are invited for a substantive full-time (i.e.,1 WTE) MSK Consultant Radiologist post or a substantive full-time (i.e., 1 WTE) GI-GU Consultant Radiologist at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Each post offers 10 programmed activities per week (i.e. DCC and 2.5 SPA).
The MSK consultant position is a replacement post, and the GI-GU consultant role is a new addition to our radiology team. Both appointments offer an opportunity to strengthen a well-established cohort of radiology colleagues who deliver a reporting service across 7 days.
Applicants will be expected to participate in a daytime duty rota and general on call rota which will also include scheduled evening, extended weekday and weekend work sessions. In general, the Consultant Radiologists on call rota involves covering one weekend in twelve and one weekday in thirteen. MKUH NHS FT have successfully implemented a Tele-Radiology on-call service for CT scans from 2000 hours till 0800 hours every day.
The successful candidates will have completed formal training in MSK or GI-GU and will have experience in all aspects of MSK intervention or GI-GU imaging. In addition, regular participation in multi-disciplinary team (MDT’s) meetings, audit, research and continuous professional development will be needed.

Other subspecialty reporting skills, including neuroradiology, would be an advantage. CT guided MSK intervention, including nerve root blocks and bone biopsies, are desirable. Support for General Radiology is required to enable reporting within on call and acute imaging service.
The successful candidate for the GI-GU consultant radiologist post would be expected to be proficient at reporting a range of GI-GU cross sectional imaging. This must include acute abdominal/pelvic CT, oncology follow up MRI/CT scans, CT colonoscopy, liver MRI, MRCP, renal MRI/MRA, small bowel MRI, MRI rectum, male and female pelvic MRI and a range of acute general CT scans such as trauma studies, CT head and CTPA. The candidate should be able to independently perform a wide range of GI fluoroscopy, abdominal ultrasound and ultrasound/CT guided procedures.
