Clinical Education Manger (Cardiac)

Heart Research UK is a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to stopping people dying from heart diseases. The Health Promotion & Education team enhance the heart health of the UK population through innovative health improvement programs.

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Clinical Education Manager (Cardiac) to join our team. This pivotal role will manage and develop our masterclass programme, oversee our Toolkits (congenital heart disease) programme, oversee clinical governance for health checks, and ensure the accuracy of medical parameters and statistics used in our public-facing resources and communications. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the heart health knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Governance:

  • Ensure the highest standards of clinical governance in the delivery of health checks – and assist in delivery of health checks as and when required.
  • Develop, implement, and review protocols and procedures for health assessments.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and safety of clinical programmes.

Clinical Education Masterclass Programme:

  • Develop and manage the masterclass programme, ensuring it meets the needs of healthcare professionals.
  • Plan and organise the delivery of masterclasses on various aspects of cardiac care and heart health.
  • Delivery of a Heart Research welcome presentation at each event
  • Work alongside Fundraising to source Industry rep equipment and sponsorship for the courses.
  • Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the masterclasses and implement improvements as needed.
  • Provide task direction to, and line manage the Community Health & Education Administrator.

Toolkit Programme:

  • Oversee the management and development of the Toolkits.
  • Evaluate the progress and outcomes of the Toolkits and report on its impact.
  • Meet with Cardiac Units to promote toolkit usage across the UK.

Public Resources and Communications:

  • Ensure the accuracy of medical parameters and statistics used in public-facing resources and communications from the health promotion & education department.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to provide expert input on heart health topics and act as a spokesperson within press and media when required.
  • Review and verify the content of educational materials, articles, and public statements to ensure they are evidence-based and accurate.

Travel:

·       The role requires attendance at all masterclasses (4-6 trips per year)

·       Travel to cardiac hospitals for networking and promotion of the toolkits.
