Are you passionate about supporting individuals on their recovery journey? ABBI Clinic in Altrincham is looking for a dedicated Support Worker to work within our specialist eating disorder service.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting individuals recovering from eating disorders. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to assist with meal support, and patient engagement. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, patient, and eager to make a meaningful difference. We treat patients aged 14 to 65.

Job Purpose:

1. To work under the direction of the shift lead. The emphasis will be on maximising service user choice and independence as outlined in the service’s Statement of Purpose, and CQC outcomes. Support Workers will be expected to promote this philosophy of care at all times.

2. This is a generic job description and the post will be flexible and will encompass a full range of support, care, housekeeping and general duties.

3. The post holder will demonstrate the maximum flexibility required to meet the varied needs of the service.

Main Tasks:

Clinical:

1. Carry out delegated procedures in line with current legislation and good practice guidelines.

2. Assist service users in line with each individual service user’s management/care plan.

4. Assist, where necessary, in the preparation, serving and clearing of meals, taking into consideration individual dietary requirements as agreed in individual service user’s management/care plan.

5. Observe and report on service users needs and difficulties, and report any changes of condition and/or presentation to the shift lead.

6. Ensure that own knowledge of individual service users’ care/management plans and risk assessments is kept current and up-to-date including any reviews/changes to these.

7. Assist with the formulation, implementation and evaluation of individual care/support plans.

8. In conjunction with other staff, initiate and be involved in activities with service users, including social, recreational and divisional activities and groups offered by ABBI clinic.

9. Refer all enquiries regarding service users to the shift lead.

11. Report all accidents and incidents to the shift lead. Assist in completion of accident/witness reports.

12. Undertake cleaning and domestic duties in all parts of the premises and surrounding areas, as required. Ensure that an appropriate standard of health and safety and hygiene is maintained at all times.

13. Facilitate 1:1 sessions as directed by the shift lead

14. Maintain contemporaneous and accurate documentation for all service users.
