Job overview

The Older People’s Inpatient Service at The Mount, has a fabulous opportunity to join our expanding inpatient teams. We welcome experienced nurses who are passionate about older adult care and making a difference in people’s lives.  You will want to develop as a charge nurse/ sister and hold an enthusiasm for service development and leadership, and be naturally highly motivated, caring, compassionate and proud to work with older adults.

The Mount has four wards, (two dementia assessment, two functional mental health), dedicated to the delivery of safe and effective care to the older adult population of Leeds, priding ourselves on our excellent mental health and our outstanding physical health care. Please state in your application your preference of ward or specialism, and we will discuss this with you at interview.

On the wards you would join a multi-disciplinary team in providing high standards of care to service users and working closely with carers/families. This role gives you the opportunity to develop your excellent clinical skills and will offer you more experience of operational leadership. We offer comprehensive on-going support and professional development to all our staff including appraisals, personal development plans, short term & long term study opportunities & a robust clinical supervision structure.

Main duties of the job

Simply put, when we employ caring people who act with integrity and have the right skills, we can give those with mental health challenges, learning disabilities and neurodiversity high-quality care and support to live fulfilling lives, and make our staff feel purposeful, happy and valued.

All our information is available in accessible formats. Please contact the Recruitment team [email protected]
