IPS Borough Lead

West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

This is a truly exciting role, leading the development of our IPS (Individual Placement and Support) services in one of our boroughs (Hammersmith and Fulham or Hounslow). You will lead a team of employment specialists who support people with mental health problems to find paid employment, and be responsible for ensuring that the service provided meets the fidelity standards set by IPS Grow.
As an IPS Borough Lead you will oversee the team leaders and Employment Specialists providing supervision, training, mentoring, and role modelling of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, as part of the holistic recovery plan for mental health service users.
Working directly with all relevant stakeholders - service users, GPs, MINT and EIS teams, consultant psychiatrists, employers and partner agencies – you will play a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets fidelity standards and delivers paid employment for our service users. You will deputise for the Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy and Head of IPS in their absence, promote and advocate for IPS across the borough and the wider trust as required.

Be professionally accountable and responsible for the delivery of the individual placement and support (IPS) service in one of the Trust boroughs (Hounslow or Hammersmith and Fulham), ensuring that accurate data is fed back to NHS England on a quarterly basis.
Ensure that the IPS service achieves good fidelity and strives to adhere as closely as possible to the IPS fidelity framework
Act as the operational lead for the IPS team across the borough, liaising closely with the leads for the other boroughs.
Represent the IPS service at high level meetings, acting as an advocate for the intervention and highlighting its relevance to the Trust’s service users.
Lead IPS staff supporting service users to gain paid employment, helping them to build links with (among others) employers, Jobcentre Plus, trade unions and employment agencies
Provide effective leadership and management, supervision, training, mentorship and role modelling of the individual placement and support (IPS) approach to IPS staff, ensuring that this is understood as part of the recovery plan for service users in our community teams.
Report on and inform our stakeholders about the trust’s IPS service in a variety of forums
