Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To assist the qualified physiotherapy staff in delivering a high quality and effective Physiotherapy service to patient. To treat patients according to team/ department standards/ protocols individually or in groups.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
Knowledge and experience equivalent to NVQ 3 in a relevant specialty i.e. Health care

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

Relevant physiotherapy assistant experience
Experience of working within the NHS
Able to determine and progress a treatment plan/ goals to D/C effectively
Able to perform a basic assessment according to department guidelines

Desirable criteria

Successful completion of PTA competencies

The ability to foster strong professional relationships and encourage close collaboration between departments is at the heart of this leadership role.
