Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Agile and Flexible Working
All our staff will have a work base. However the Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. However, occasionally travel around Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful.

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a new appointment for a committed and enthusiastic Consultant General Surgeon with an interest in Endocrine and Paediatric surgery.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join 2 other consultants with a Paediatric Surgery interest in maintaining a longstanding elective service to local families. Paediatric surgical services at SWFT are delivered as part of the West Midlands Surgery in Children Network. The Hub of specialist paediatric surgery is based in Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The on-call frequency is currently 1 in 10 and this is supported by a resident registrar as well as other junior doctors and ACPs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will participate in the General Surgery on call rota and their elective work will focus on management thyroid and parathyroid disease, as well as general surgery of childhood. They will also be expected to participate in training Specialist Registrars on rotation from HEE and trust grade registrars.
