Freeman Retail Shop Volunteer

Voluntary

Job overview

We are looking to recruit friendly and approachable people to volunteer in the Charity retail shop on level two of the Freeman Hospital – along the corridor from the main entrance.

The shop sells a wide range of newspapers and magazines, sandwiches, snacks and drinks, as well as a huge choice of sweets, biscuits and other general groceries.  It also offers a range of Newcastle Hospitals Charity Merchandise and other goods including toys, games and other forms of entertainment to help make patients time in hospital pass more easily.

Previous retail experience would be beneficial but is not essential as training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job

You’ll be responsible for maintaining the smooth running of the shop, welcoming customers, managing payments, and ensuring that the displays are topped up and look attractive.

Working for our organisation

At Newcastle Hospitals Charity our goal is to make a positive impact at Newcastle Hospitals. We proudly support staff, patients and the wider community of the hospitals, and fund a range of initiatives – from cutting edge cancer research, to innovative medical equipment and ward refurbishments.

Important note on completion of the application form
