Job overview

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health board is embarking on a long term system wide approach to develop its Culture, Leadership and Engagement.  To support this work and other key organisational development priorities, we are looking for someone with Organisational Development experience who will support us in helping to build the capability of our workforce in alignment with our organisational values.   

The successful candidate will be someone who is experienced, confident and has knowledge and experience in facilitating organisation wide interventions and programmes of learning to a range of audiences.  The applicant appointed will support our Organisational Development Practitioners to implement key elements of our Integrated Leadership Development Framework (ILDF) including designing, delivering and evaluating Leadership & Management development programmes as part of the framework and contributing to other elements such as facilitating action learning sets and workshops.  The role requires someone with a compassionate and inclusive approach and who has excellent communication and coaching skills.  For an informal chat and further information please contact: Rebecca Testa at [email protected] Katie-Lynn Williams at [email protected]

 

Main duties of the job

·      Support the design, development and delivery of organisational, learning and development activity aligned to the People and Organisational Development Strategy for BCUHB and the L&D activity of the Organisational Development team

·       Design, develop, deliver and evaluate new L&D content as directed by members of the Senior OD Management team and in collaboration with the OD team as a whole

Facilitate the delivery and evaluation of existing coaching, management and leadership L&D programmes and other L&D activity (for example, action learning sets) as core aspects of role delivery

Work with OD colleagues, other members of Workforce and Organisation Development, and other partners, both inside and outside of the organisation to identify  the skills and knowledge needs of key aspects of the workforce aligned to our OD coaching, leadership and management brief, as well as in relation to other workforce activity around recruitment, retention and bespoke team development support

Promote innovative learning methodologies to support organisational development

Review and analyse data to generate OD reports on L&D activity on a regular basis

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

•    Support the Organisational Development Team to undertake key organisational, learning and development activities across a wide suite of learning offers in accordance with organisational need. Work with and support teams, departments and service areas across the organisation to identify OD priorities and support them in meeting objectives covering: Management Development, Succession Planning and Leadership Development
•    Identify best practice L&D thinking and evidence for sharing with the OD team and others
•    Support the OD Team to develop  reporting mechanisms to evaluate outcomes from L&D interventions and implement any changes required 
•    Support the OD Team in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of a range of OD interventions and programmes
•    Set up and Facilitate Communities of Learning e.g. Action Learning Sets, Communities of Practice
•    Carry out audits and surveys related to L&D activity as directed by OD team
•    Support the administration of formal and informal learning and development interventions 
•    Work in partnership with educational institutions and other partners e.g. Academi Wales, HEIW, local further and higher education partners to deliver joint programmes of work where appropriate
•    Produce and complete regular and ad hoc data requests
•    Ensure validation checks and processes are built into the creation of reports and dashboards
•    Work with the OD Team to develop innovative strategies and value for money in learning methodologies which support organisational development.
•    Identify improvements in the planning and delivery of L&D programmes
•    Support the development of new communication methodologies within organisational development
•    Responsible for the self-development of skills and competencies through participation in learning and development activities and to maintain up to date technical and professional knowledge and portfolio of evidence relevant to the post
•    Delegated programme management responsibility
•    The post holder will act in a way that is compliant with standing orders and standing financial instructions in the discharge of responsibilities
