Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to Home Treatment Team Manager in East BCU. This is a high-profile service within the Heddfan Mental Health Unit, Wrexham. We are looking for an enthusiastic and initiative individual to join our functioning, established team as we continue to develop the service. We are looking for someone who is adept at supporting and leading others and can work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will require a good knowledge of mental health issues and risk formulation. You will have good communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships. You will be required to be self-motivating and have the ability to work to deadlines. Experience within Urgent, Acute and Community Mental Health services will be very helpful. Applications will be welcomed from health and social care professionals or other experienced managers with relevant experience of both mental health work and operational management. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

As manager you will work with the Service Lead to have oversight of a service based on supporting people in their own homes to prevent hospital admission, or to facilitate early discharges from the inpatient setting. It will be essential that applicants demonstrate a good understanding of the functions and requirements of a Home Treatment Team. There are targets to meet and the team manager will be expected to support the team in maintaining and improving performance.
You will utilise quality improvement strategies and require an enthusiasm for QI projects and be instrumental in ensuring this work continues.

You will have experience of managing teams and working in a multi-disciplinary way. There will need to be a careful balance between the bed flow demands of the unit and the requirement to facilitate support to patients in the community, this may at times include periods of supporting with unscheduled care.  You will be required to work with the team to meet targets for the Home Treatment Team. There will need to be a degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
