Senior People Partner - Medical (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

A unique opportunity has arisen for a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment as Senior People Partner supporting our Medical and Dental colleagues. You will support the Chief Medical Office providing strategic and generalist HR services, managing complex casework under the Maintaining High Professional Standards (MHPS) and supporting workforce planning and working with Clinical Leads to transform pathways of care.

You will work with colleagues from regional Trusts to develop collaborative practices, ways of working and procedures. You will demonstrate that you can lead the co-ordination of a number of workforce projects to ensure effective delivery in line with Trust strategic objectives. 

You will be confident in your operational HR knowledge and critical reasoning skills and will bring a systematic and organised approach to introducing new work practices and policies. While not essential it would be beneficial to have prior experience of delivering a HR service to a medical workforce and having knowledge of national medical contracts and terms and conditions.

The role requires you to work on site for a minimum of 3 days a week in line with our hybrid working model.

 

Main duties of the job

You will also be confident in your understanding of employment law, have experience of handling a range of employee relations issues, able to proactively coach and support customers with people management policies and be confident to lead on a dedicated work stream.

The post holder will be the senior accountable HR representative for a Division and portfolio holder for a  dedicated Workforce and HR work stream providing strategic HR support ensuring the people perspective is incorporated into business planning and organisational development.

The post holder is responsible for proactively ensuring that they contribute HR and Workforce expertise to business decision making and developing innovative HR solutions.

Essential criteria
  • CIPD Qualified – Live Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development – Chartered Status
  • Masters level education or equivalent experience
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • A Senior HR professional with substantial experience of working at a senior level in a large, complex, multi-sited organisation whether that Private or Public Sector
  • Good knowledge of HR leading edge people practices and tools across the whole range of HR.
  • Experience of working as a key stakeholder on HR Workforce planning projects within a large organisation.
  • Evidence of experience in successfully managing relationships with senior managers within an organisation
  • Experience of coaching and training managers in HR issues
  • Experience of managing a team and achieving high performance
  • Analytical and numerate, with the ability to understand and interpret trends from data
  • The ability to deliver against a series of tight and changing deadlines.

  • Knowledge of the current HR agenda in the NHS and how this supports service provision, performance and improvement
