We are seeking a Respiratory Clinical Physiologists to join our dynamic healthcare team. As the Respiratory Clinical Physiologist, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality respiratory diagnostic services working in a small team of two clinical physiologists to ensure the smooth operation of our growing respiratory department.
As one of the respiratory physiologist you will work in a pair with the Lead Physiologist to undertake routine and advanced investigations into lung function in a dynamic and growing Respiratory Department at Salisbury. You will be required to perform and analyse both basic and multi-channel sleep studies. You will also be required to initiate and monitor CPAP therapy. You will also be able to contribute to the Oxygen and sleep service.

Hours Monday to Friday. Flexible working hours will be considered for this post as well as part time hours for the right person. There is a 10 % Recruitment & Retention Premium Payment payment
Main duties of the job
- You will perform and interpret a range of routine respiratory investigations (eg. full pulmonary function tests, walking tests, etc.)
- You will perform and interpret specialist respiratory sleep investigations including overnight oximetry and NOX.
- You will initiate and monitor CPAP treatment for OSAHs where considered appropriate according to departmental guidelines
- You will contribute to both the Dorset and Wiltshire Sleep Services attending peripheral clinics as required.
- You will perform and interpret a range of specialist investigations including arterial blood gas sampling, and ear lobe capillary sampling.
- You will produce technically accurate results in accordance with local and national guidelines, including safety and infection control.
- You will contribute to service development including attendance at departmental meetings.
- You will develop and review departmental protocols and guidelines in accordance with published evidence and best practice.
- You will be responsible for some administrative duties, stock control and managing appointments to include both inpatient and outpatient needs.
- You will be responsible for the maintenance, quality assurance, and calibration and infection control of all lung function equipment.
- You will maintain patient and departmental records contributing to audit for the service.
- You will actively involve service users in providing feedback of the experience of the current service and suggestions for improvement

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are offering a generous negotiable relocation package alongside a 10% RRP payment for this position. The relocation package would be agreed prior to commencing with the trust and would be paid on commencement following receipt of relevant receipts relating to relocation.

- BSc Clinical Physiology (Hons) or equivalent BSc in Sciences
- Minimum of one years experience in practice
- ARTP accredited
Desirable criteria
- Sleep experience, CPAP set ups and NOX assessments
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses or training
