An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exciting and enthusiastic nurse to apply for position of Band 6 Charge Nurse/Junior Sister on our 23 bedded respiratory Ward. Laverstock Ward care for patients with long term and acute respiratory conditions, working alongside the respiratory clinical team and specialist nurses.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience post qualifying; respiratory experience is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will have an interest in respiratory conditions and management of those conditions.
The successful post holder will work with the Senior Sister and Matrons to provide clinical support to the ward and providing effective leadership skills and would work with colleagues to deputise in the Senior Sister’s absence.
Main duties of the job
To work with colleagues and Senior Sister/Charge Nurse providing effective leadership on the ward.
To deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence and as required.
To achieve and maintain necessary clinical skills to provide effective and safe patient care, whilst supporting junior colleagues in their development.
Act within the NMC guidelines, maintaining safe, patient centred working.
