We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated indivudual to join our friendly, dedicated and forward thinking team providing a comprehensive aseptic pharmacy service across Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. We can provide extensive training, peer support and fully funded learning opportunities to ensure you rapidly progress across all areas of aseptic production.

The right candidate should have a BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent apprenticeship); pharmacy technician registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council; have good manual dexterity; previous experience of aseptic preparation including cytotoxic and parenteral nutrition is a distinct advantage. 

Main duties of the job

Our Aseptic unit provides excellent modern facilities & is highly regarded across the trust & wider region. Built in 2013, the unit has the benefit of being light, spacious & expertly designed, creating a positive working environment. It is an integral part of the pharmacy department and we have a great working relationship with the other specialties and services across the Trust.

There are plenty of opportunities to develop your skills in aseptic services and also gain accreditation in regional schemes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As an essential member of the team you will be responsible for the preparation of a wide range of sterile products in response to prescriptions for adult & neonatal parenteral nutrition, intravenous additive products for our CIVA Service, and Cytotoxic preparations including clinical trials.  You will form part of the operational team and work towards achieving accreditations and engage in the mentoring & training of new staff. The building of knowledge & expertise in aseptic services over time will form an essential part in providing bespoke lifesaving treatment to patients.

This role offers role progression after successful completion of accreditations, further learning, and gaining greater supervisory responsibilities.
