If you have an in interest in laboratory work, this is an ideal opportunity for you to take on a supporting role as part of our Histopathology Medical Laboratory Assistant Team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
You will need to be organised, flexible and a good team player who is able to work in a high pressured environment.
Main duties of the job
The role includes:
- Numbering specimens received
- Data entry
- Assisting Pathologists/Scientists at dissection
- Stock control
- Equipment maintenance
- Filing
If you’ve worked within a similar environment that's great. If not, don't worry as full training will be provided. You will however need to have an interest in working within this environment and have a good eye for detail and following procedures.
Working hours are between 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

- Has GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
- Has GCSE in a science subject
- Has applied for the role advertised
Skills

- Able to concentrate for long periods of time
- Able to follow protocols and procedures
- Able to work as part of a team and alone
- Has good written and verbal communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Has knowledge of IT packages
- Has previous lab experience
