Job overview
We are looking for a specialist children's physiotherapist to be a core member of our team delivering physiotherapy to children and young people.
This post requires management of a caseload of out-patients and cover for our paediatric and new-born wards. The post holder will participate in multidisciplinary clinics; these could include orthotics, rheumatology or respiratory clinics. The post will require supervision of Band 5 physiotherapists or therapy assistants.
Main duties of the job
To provide physiotherapy for children and young people (CYP) accessing our out-patient and in-patient provision. This will include delivery of general paediatric physiotherapy, in the sub-specialty areas of musculoskeletal, respiratory, neurological and developmental conditions.
Working alongside the physiotherapy team, and our child health multidisciplinary team, you will lead and develop children’s physiotherapy services.
This specialist physiotherapy role will enable children and young people to understand and manage their own health and wellbeing.

Essential criteria
- Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Current HCPC Registration
- Experience of children's physiotherapy practice at Band 5/6 level, or equivalent
- Evidence of post-graduate CPD in the specialty of children's physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of children's physiotherapy practice within musculoskeletal specialty
- Evidence of CPD in paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- Evidence of children's physiotherapy practice in an in-patient setting. 1 point for in-pt respiratory, 1 point for in-pt orthopaedics
- Evidence of practice within a multidisciplinary team
- Evidence of teaching. 1 point for education to CYP and their families, 1 point for teaching to physios and/or MDT
- Evidence of supervision of others, inclusive of students, B5 physios, assistants or MDT
- Evidence of Evidenced Based Practice or audit or quality improvement
