An opportunity has arisen for passionate and talented chefs to produce traditional, home-made food using locally sourced ingredients in a large production kitchen. The kitchen produces meals for both patients as well as two busy restaurants.

Applicants will have previous experience of working in a busy kitchen, must be motivated and committed to providing a high quality service and be an outgoing, hardworking, enthusiastic individual that is able to work as part of a team or on their own initiative. Must be genuinely interested in customer service excellence as well as being a great team player.

Successful candidates must be qualified to City & Guilds 7061/2 or NVQ Levels 1 & 2 or equivalent. Must have Level 2 Food Safety Certificate. Basic numeracy and literacy skills are also required.

Hours of work will be 37.5 per week working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis Monday to Sunday between the hours of 6.00am and 7.00pm and will also include Bank Holidays.

You will be joining an enthusiastic team of professionals and reporting to the Head Chef.

Main duties of the job

Knowledge of special diets including textured modified and/or experience of working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage. Understanding statutory requirements on food hygiene, allergens, storage and temperature control and an excellent knowledge of food hygiene and food preparation are essential.
