To ensure good working relationships with all other departments and users of the services
In this position, you will be expected to maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle, follow traffic rules and regulations, and provide excellent customer service to passengers.
Main duties of the job

• A key element of the role is a high standard of customer service to ensure the correct impression of the Trust, linking to the trust’s objectives and vision.
• To be smart of appearance and dress in the uniform provided
• To demonstrate professionalism, honesty, and integrity, in all matters of a confidential nature
• Work without supervision and in isolation for long periods of shifts.
• Able to act on his/her own initiative, particularly when on duty dealing with all requests made.
• To change routes as necessary due to traffic congestion
• Responsible to act according to availability and carry out all ad-hoc requests in a prompt manner.
• To be able to drive all types of vehicles operated by the transport department.
• To be trained to drive a Passenger Carrying Vehicle (Vocational License D1 required with no more than 6 penalty points) and be fully compliant with the requirement to hold a full Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).
• Passenger Carrying Vehicle drivers must adhere to the Department of Transport Law relating to Passenger Transport Operation
• Responsible for planning ongoing activities / tasks such as the ongoing requirement to plan road worthiness of vehicles roadworthiness checks on vehicles, including oil, water, tyres, etc

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
