NHS AfC: Band 6

Job overview

We are seeking a Dual Trained (we will consider a trainee if there are no applicants with the appropriate qualifications) Clinical Nurse Specialist in Sexual Health to join Spectrum Community Health CIC in Wakefield.

The post is Agenda for Change Band 6, (if trainee, this would be a Band 5 post until required training completed) providing clinical care independently to patients attending the service.  We have an innovative approach to clinical provision with a strong digital strategy which contributes to the flexibility of patient care, but also work/life balance.

You will be part of a wider sexual health team within Spectrum, which includes peer engagement from other clinical nurse specialists both in Wakefield and our colleagues at our other sites in Barnsley.   We have a strong focus on clinical governance and have a weekly cross site education meeting, for everyone to participate in.

TO PLEASE NOTE that unless the essential criteria is met then a Band 5 position would be offered.

Main duties of the job

This post is primarily based at our central Wakefield Clinic (spoke provision is also part of this role).

The post holder will provide an outpatient model of sexual health care, focusing on achieving excellent patient outcomes for their sexual health needs (includes both STI management and contraception).  The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the development and maintenance of high-quality clinical environment, input into service delivery, supporting medical, nursing, and administrative colleagues.

The successful candidate will possess a professional registration and/or experience and/or training.
