Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Recruitment and Appointments Team Leader.

The post holder will provide a high quality and effective recruitment service.  Providing professional advice and support to managers and staff across the Trust on employment issues ensuring that advice is consistent with organisational policies, current employment legislation and good employment practice.  Working with x2  Recruitment & Appointment Team Leaders, the post holder will assist to enhance the recruitment process to ensure it is as effective and efficient as possible.

The post holder will be the first point of contact for the Trust and will therefore be expected to maintain high standards of courtesy, discretion and confidentiality at all times.

The post holder will also be responsible for the accurate maintenance of electronic HR systems.

Main duties of the job

To enable the Trust to deliver safe, accessible, high quality patient care by managing the Recruitment team to provide high quality, timely HR advice, support and interventions. 

The post holder will provide professional advice and support to managers and staff across the Trust on employment issues ensuring that advice is consistent with organisational policies, current employment legislation and good employment practice. 

The post holder will demonstrate role model leadership and will guide and work with the HR Services Manager to lead the recruitment team to enhance the recruitment process to ensure it is as effective and efficient as possible.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • • Associate CIPD or equivalent/equivalent level of experience
Desirable criteria
  • Chartered member CIPD

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • A sound knowledge of Employment law and HR processes and best practice
  • NHS Terms and Conditions of Employment
  • Understanding of Agenda for Change and Medical & Dental terms and conditions and different staff groups
  • Use and understanding of HR policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of national NHS issues and agendas
  • Best practice recruitment from across a wide range of sectors and organisations.
  • Significant knowledge of the NHS Pre-Employment Check Standards
Desirable criteria
  • Use of Social media to enhance recruitment processes and promote employer branding.
  • Knowledge of the immigration and visa rules

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in best practice recruitment and selection techniques
  • Experience of working with various stakeholders from multiple organisations to develop integrated recruitment strategies.
  • Experience of developing internal stakeholder relationships.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in the NHS
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience in dealing with sickness management issues and disciplinary and grievance issues
