An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Health support worker Apprenticeship within the AIRE COURT CMHT Team.

Our apprenticeship scheme is run in partnership with a leading provider to ensure you are fully supported through a high-quality training programme. The apprenticeship will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for future careers. 

Whilst completing your apprenticeship programme you will be a band B2 APPRENTICE Health support worker You will be expected to fulfil the full role and responsibilities by the end of the training period, and a development plan will be put in place by your line manager confirming the competencies they expect you to develop during that time. On successful completion of the apprenticeship[SI1] , you will progress to band B3as Health support worker 

You will be supported with your learning and the skills needed to undertake the role. You will be supported by our Practice Learning and Development Team (PLDT), the Apprenticeship Team and your Team Manager.

For non-admin Level 2 apprenticeships If you do not have level 1 Maths and English (GCSE Grades 1-3 or D to G, or equivalent) we can support you to achieve this whilst completing your Apprenticeship programme.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. We are not able to offer sponsorship to work in the UK for any apprentice role in the organisation.

  • To assist the service users as directed by their individual plans of care under the supervision of the Senior Support Worker or Associate Practitioner.
  • Always Uphold the Support Worker Code of Practice.
  • To support the service users to maintain their mental health wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle
  • To provide personal care and support complex physical/ clinical needs as required
  • To monitor the wellbeing of the service users at all times, and inform the registered professional or other member of the senior team of any change in the health, behaviour or condition of the service user.
  • To always ensure the health and safety of the service user.
  • To support the principles and philosophies of Citizenship, inclusion, promoting service user’s rights choices and independence.
