Job overview

Core CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team at the heart of CAMHS. We deliver a range of therapeutic interventions to support patients with a wide range of mental health presentations. Core has support from colleagues in specialist teams such as eating disorders and psychological therapies. There are clear pathways within the service embedding multidisciplinary working. The main roles of core mental health practitioners are care co-ordination. This includes a comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment with the patient and their families creating a patient centred formulation and care plan, setting clear goals to support their recovery. As a part of this process robust and effective risk assessments are undertaken with the young person and their families as a continual part of the care coordination role. The Core team has psychosocial and clinical oversight within the team from senior psychologists. The Core team have access to medics when the clinical need for treatment is identified. Core staff are allocated a clinical supervisor and receive monthly clinical supervision. Staff are also allocated a multi-disciplinary formulation group for support with complex presentations as well as monthly case load management to support colleagues.
