Job overview

Based at The Pennine Suite, Horton Wing, St. Luke’s Hospital,   To undertake a wide range of direct care, film handling and administration duties. The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary Team.

The Integrated Breast Service is responsible for the Symptomatic Breast Service for the Bradford area and for the Pennine Screening Service.  

The Pennine Screening Service is part of the National Breast Screening Service (NHSBSP) and is responsible for providing the screening service to 5 districts (Calderdale, Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Bradford and Airedale). 

There are 4 mobile units which provide screening in the 5 districts and 1 static unit, at The Pennine Suite, Bradford. 

 

 

Main duties of the job

o    To work as part of the multidisciplinary Breast Team.

o    To contribute to maintaining cleanliness of equipment, accessories and work environment.

o    To prepare and manage mammographic images as requested. 

o    Correct preparation of mobile clinics.  Ensure imaging is returned from mobile units and uploaded onto the PACS system, following Trust information governance procedures.  Collating clinics for film reading and once read return to the screening office. 

o    To assist Consultant Radiologist/ Advanced Practitioners undertaking interventional procedures

    To assist in stock level maintenance. 

o    To follow and observe local and national Quality Assurance standards including Ionising Radiation Regulations. 


o    To be aware of and implement policies and standards of the NHSBSP and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS foundation Trust in order to ensure a clean and safe environment.

o    To participate in developments relating to Clinical Governance including audit and quality control.

o    To perform any other duties appropriate to the post that may be allocated by the Lead Radiographer and agreed by post holder.

  • Previous experience in clerical duties
