EPR Maternity Workstream Lead

Job overview

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTFHT) is a highly digitised Trust with almost no paper in clinical areas.  We implemented the Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium Electronic Patient Record (EPR) on a shared domain with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust in 2017 and subsequently rolled out the Maternity module in March 2022, including Feta link which allows immediate and remote access to a patient’s electrocadriogam output, across BTHFT. We are now now working to bring Airedale General Hospital Foundation Trust onto the shared domain to use the EPR.

Main duties of the job

The jobholder will be responsible for leading the ongoing design and development of the maternity modue, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of the maternity service at BTHFT and AGHFT.  This will include orginating, developing and managing Change Requests which could require in depth analysis of current working practices, process mapping and policy analysis. The post holder is expected to develop a strong relationship with the Maternity department and with the EPR supplier Oracle Health to design and support new and existing build, including testing and go live activities. As workstream lead for the maternity module the post holder is expected to take the lead on all maternity related EPR changes, policy and service delivery, including live issue resolution.

Working for our organisation

Our People Charter outlines the behaviours we can expect from one another and what you can expect from Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust:

  • We value people
  • We are one team
  • We care

We’re keen to meet people who share these values and are passionate about delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This Oracle Health / Cerner EPR domain is one of the largest implementations deployed in the UK and was the first to be delivered across two Trusts as a single implementation. With the onboarding of Airedale we will become one of the first tri-party shared domains. The key features of EPR functionality used by both BTHFT and CHFT today are:

·       Patient Administration,

·       Accident & Emergency,

·       Order Requesting & Result Reporting,

·       Electronic Prescribing & Medication Administration,

·       Clinical Documentation

·       Health Information Exchange (Integration with GPs)

·       Patient Portal

·       Clinical Decision Support

As part of the Joint EPR Team there may be opportunity to develop expertise in other areas of the EPR in the future.

This EPR team is open to applications for job share or part time roles.

The role includes line management responsibility for a Configuration Analyst.
