Early Intervention Lead Psychological Therapist/Psychologist

There has never been a more exciting time to join Bradford District Care Trust!  

Bradford and Airedale Early Intervention Team is a Top Performing psychological service, supporting those between 14 – 65 who may be ‘At Risk’ of, or experiencing, a first episode of Psychosis. The service works to a Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual model and is committed to flexible and adapted ways of working to best serve our community.  

You will be responsible for delivering Psychological Interventions – primarily CBT-p – to the young people and adults who use our service. You will work closely with your own supervisor and Team Lead to ensure an MDT approach is maintained with all Service Users, and you are supported with your cases.

The post will guide Cluster Teams within Aire Warf and Craven and EI-CAMHS, in psychological ways of working, and promote formulation within MDT discussions. You will be part of the wider EI Psychological Therapist Team and work with them to ensure psychological therapies are accessible and ensure quality care is being delivered service wide.

To provide evidence based (see NICE CG 82 & CG 178) Psychological Therapy to individuals aged 18 - 35 and deemed to be ‘vulnerable to’ or ‘at risk of’ developing psychosis, across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven districts

Making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.

Provide clinical supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies.

Assist the Team Managers and Clinical Lead with service development, including research and development activities

Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Clinical Psychology (including a substantial training component in cognitive behavioural therapy). AND Accreditation (or working towards accreditation) with the relevant professional body (HCPC and/or BABCP), including through non-professional route (the position would be offered at a band 6 until accredited).

  • Previous mental health qualification e.g. Clin. Psych., RMN, Dip. SW., Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Mental Health
  • Teaching (clinical practice) qualification/certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Supervision qualification, in the relevant therapeutic modality.

Experience

  • Experience of working with adults with mental health problems, including psychosis and/or experience of Early Intervention in Psychosis.
  • Experience of utilising the Care Program Approach & risk management.
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Application of evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.
