Job overview

Forensic Occupational Therapy is a specialism, assessments undertaken contribute directly in developing the multidisciplinary teams perceptions for ongoing and emerging needs.

OT’s at Moorlands view are supported to adopt a relational approach. The service user pathway is structured to maximise continuation of the therapeutic alliance and the relational security.

Service users receive input from Occupational Therapy at the earliest opportunity on their forensic pathway. OT work commonly starts preadmission where service users expectations are managed, and the purpose of the admission is identified.

Therapists are expected to develop strong working relationships with CMHT, transition workers, housing providers and other members of MDT to ensure appropriate future planning.

We also support development of the wider therapeutic environment and rehabilitation agenda.

Outcomes are continually measured and evaluated with the service user and at clinical meetings, establishing the effectiveness of the treatment offered and identifying any additional needs.
