Job overview

An  opportunity has arisen for an Admin Team Leader to join the healthcare team at HMP Deerbolt (also providing support for HMP Kirklevington Grange when required).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide comprehensive administration and information services within the Prison Healthcare Department.

  • You  will work as team leader of the administration team to provide high quality clerical, administrative and reception duties for both physical and substance misuse services.
  •  Provide excellent administration and communication skills and work flexibly in response to the service needs.
  • Provide day to day support to the physical and substance misuse clinical teams, supporting them in the delivery of a Gold Standard level of patient care.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of administrative support, including co- ordinating healthcare appointments for patients internally and externally, liaising on a daily basis with external providers.
  •  Collating statistical information as directed by the Business Support Manager for the Performance Management Team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ 3 in Business Administration or relevant field or equivalent experience
  • English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • European Computer Driving License or equivalent to evidence competence in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working effectively in a busy office environment undertaking a range of administration duties
  • Experience working in a customer services environment dealing with members of the public/patients
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Experience of working with databases and producing statistical data
  • Demonstrable experience of using a range of word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or presentation software to RSA 3 or equivalent standard.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of line managing staff
  • Experience of working in a secure environment
  • Knowledge of SystmOne
  • Knowledge of SystmOne
  • Experience of working in a prison or secured environment
