Job overview
As a Staff Nurse you will have the opportunities to deliver patient-centred care supporting patients with Dementia. You will work as part of the MDT undertaking assessments of patients with complex mental health needs developing care with the patients and their families/carers.
In conjunction with the team, you will assess and manage risks and will work closely with other teams and professionals to ensure the effective discharge of patients.
On Beechwood Ward we have a very supportive team, who are passionate about patient care. We are passionate about ward improvements and would like you to be involved in this.
Main duties of the job
Assesses mental health patients/clients, plans & implements care, maintains associated records
Carries out nursing procedures
Provides provision to other staff students and nursing assistants

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role
Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007)
- Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions
- Child and Adult safe guarding procedures
- Change management, organising and prioritising workloads
- Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence based knowledge
- Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group
- Demonstrates ability to assess and manage clinical risk
