The Chichester Assessment and Treatment Service are looking for a Nurse Associate to join the team. We work with adults living with mental illness, supporting their recovery and helping them to develop skills and strategies to maintain their wellbeing. We are a dynamic and friendly team who will support you with your growth and development as a clinician. You will be offered plenty of support along with mentorship and clinical supervision from senior nursing colleagues, proactive managerial supervision and the chance to undertake training courses relevant to your professional practice.

Our forward thinking and supportive team will work closely with you to encourage you to develop your own specialist skills, knowledge and competence through participation, reflection, supervision and training and your development will be guided using the Trust’s appraisal process.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

As a Nurse Associate  in our service you will be working as part of a Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including social workers, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and medics. You will work with people with severe and enduring mental health problems, providing specialist interventions and acting in the role of Lead Practitioner for a defined caseload of clients under the supervision of one of our Mental Health Nurses.  We encourage knowledge sharing and teamwork so all team members are involved with the full range of best practice interventions. You will benefit from regular caseload reviews and we are currently developing family interventions within our service, with plenty of opportunities for you to become involved.

Promote health and safety maintaining best practice in health, safety and security.
Share ideas with colleagues to improve care and suggest areas for innovation.
Participate in audit activities being undertaken in area of practice.
Contribute to the improvement of service by reflecting on own practice and supporting that of others.
Adhere to legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines both local and national regularly attend workplace and staff engagement meetings and contribute positively to discussions about the improvement of care.
Contribute to quality of care through Evidence Based Practice by participating in audits and research.

  • Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice

Knowledge/Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting either paid or voluntary
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the nursing associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
