Person specification
Experience and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Basic medical degree MBBS or equivalent
- • FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification
- • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- • CCT in Radiology or equivalent (equivalence)
- • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable criteria
- • Higher Degree including masters or doctorate
- • Distinctions, Scholarships, prizes, other degrees eg BSc, MSc, MS
Clinical Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
- • Broad experience of general acute diagnostic imaging (including trauma CT) and general outpatient imaging
- • Experience of interventional radiology
- • Experience of running MDMs
- • Extensive experience in vascular and non-vascular intervention (including EVAR and embolisation techniques)
- • Experience of US guided IR procedures including drain insertion and biopsies
- • Experience in cross-sectional imaging and relevant subspecialist interest
- • Understanding of clinical risk management
Desirable criteria
- Fellowship in IR

- • Breadth of experience in and outside specialty
Organisation & Planning

- • Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams
- • Understanding of: NHS / Clinical governance / Resource constraints
