We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Community mental health teams (CMHT). We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who has a passion for mental health, is highly motivated and enthusiastic. You will be part of a dynamic, supportive and diverse multi-disciplinary team. You will receive regular supervision with opportunities to develop clinical and professional practice in line with service user and organisational values.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist, preferably with experience of working with severe and enduring mental health service users. You will be responsible for care co-ordinating a set caseload alongside Occupational Therapy specific cases. You will have experience of utilising a variety of OT interventions and have a good knowledge and experience of the Model of Human Occupation and associated assessments. You will participate and support the CMHT duty system and be responsible for managing the mental health needs of service users referred to the team.

In addition to the information listed above, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills in regular contacts with service users, families and carers as well as other professionals.
  • Experience of working closely with Multi-Disciplinary Teams, as well as wider inter-agency teams.
  • Compassion, Empathy and a Caring approach with every interaction, in line with the Trust’s behaviours.
  • A detailed knowledge of the ‘Model of Human Occupation’ as well as ‘Occupational Formulation’, and experience of using this in practice.
  • A flexible approach to the post, both in relation to engaging service users, but also to support the service in meeting its needs.
  • Enable and empower service users through clinical work, as well as fellow staff and students through facilitating supervisions.
