Job overview

The post holder will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary age independent 24/7 inpatient service. Inpatient services will provide a service to people experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis (functional or organic) who require urgent treatment and delivery of required interventions who may be detained under the Mental Health Act, whilst using the least restrictive environment to facilitate recovery.

The post holder will adhere to all organisational systems and processes. The post holder will organise their own workload under the supervision of a senior team member. The post holder will contribute to service development. The post holder will be required to support the services need for flexibility to deliver optimal patient care. The post holder will be required to undertake delegated responsibilities as and where appropriate.

Essential criteria
  • Relevant Professional Qualification ie. RMN, DipCOT
  • Expertise within a discipline underpinned by theory
  • Professional clinical knowledge acquired through degree/ diploma

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of Equal Opportunities
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of confidentiality

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in Acute Mental health care setting
  • Developed specialist knowledge gained within a similar environment over a considerable period of time
  • Proven experience of people management
