Do you have a passion for great online user experience and a keen eye for detail? We're looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Digital Communications Assistant to help us improve and maintain our website, staff extranet and social media channels. All contributing towards a great staff experience and quality care for our patients.
You'll need to be able to work well on your own, as well as with the rest of the communications team to deliver high-quality digital material, often at short notice. From creating engaging and concise content to making impactful images; from scheduling social media content to shooting video - this is a varied role, requiring a range of skills but also offering a great opportunity to develop your communications career
Our friendly team will help you to settle in to this busy environment - giving you lots of help to develop your skills, but also learning from your Knowledge and experience.
This role will be responsible for communications activities that have significant reputational impact for the Trust. The postholder will focus on the development of technological innovations that would raise the profile of the Trust such as a high-quality Trust website, engaging social media channels and other digital platforms.They will be handling complex information, maintaining and developing e-communications systems, co-ordinating internal and external stakeholders’ feedback to continually improve e-communications products.

• Support the communications team in generating creative, engaging and concise content for all digital communications channels including social media, staff newsletter, MyGeorge App, digital screensavers, digital screens, website and extranet - advising content providers on potential material
• Responsibility for the day-to-day editing and maintenance of our website and extranet, ensuring that content is regularly reviewed and updated.
• To provide relevant advice and support to colleagues within the Trust as appropriate, from accessibility to photography guidance.
• To support the Communications Team with the creation of high-quality video and photography
• Adapt appropriate content for a wide range of audiences maximising the use of web and social media platforms.
• Monitoring of latest developments in social media and digital to ensure the Trust is using the latest technology to ensure effective communications
• Embed appropriate evaluation tools to monitor and adjust the effectiveness of key platforms.
• Be up to date with changes in the law, which reflect online issues and be alert to potential legal pitfalls.
• Dealing with a range of telephone enquiries, maintaining office systems and covering for other team members when necessary.
• Maintenance and development of relevant databases, surveys and digital innovations - advanced skills to design/produce presentations/print media
• Liaise with design agencies/printers for creative/promotional materials ensuring the trust standards are maintained and any orders are within the procurement/finance guidelines.
• Providing advice to all services on issues relating to maintenance and correct use of George Eliot Hospital and NHS branding guidelines.
• Work with Foundation Group partners to develop and share content which aligns with our organisational requirements.
