An exciting opportunity to join a growing hospital charity, you'll play a vital role in delivering  its fundraising strategy  to maximize income to support staff and patients.  Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you will supervise the day-to-day activity of the George Eliot Hospital Charity - working with patients, staff and donors across the hospital and local community.

- We require candidates to have a  full drivers license and use of a car to travel for off-site meetings

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you'll be a helpful and knowledgeable representative of George Eliot Hospital Charity, dealing with donors, patients and their relatives, volunteers, Trustees of the George Eliot Hospital Charity and Hospital staff.

In a varied and rewarding role, no two days will be the same as you support the charity's fundraising activities amongst a range of stakeholders, including community groups and staff. Working closely with the hospital's communications team, you will manage information about fundraising activities on the charity’s website, intranet and social media platforms while also publicising successes.

As you take on day-to-day supervision of the charity , you will work with the hospital's finance team to  ensure the efficient handling of donations and grants - keeping the charity running smoothly 'behind the scenes'.

As a professional, organised and effective individual, your skills will be put to good use as you help deliver donor recognition activity and represent the charity at seminars, events and conferences.

Support the Charity's fundraising activities amongst a range of stakeholders, including community groups and staff.

Write and verbally communicate complex and sensitive information to a range of different audiences in the most appropriate style.

To ensure that action is taken within the hospital to plan for the proper use of charitable funds and to support timely expenditure.

To liaise with members of the public who wish to make donations to ensure that these are properly recorded and utilised in accordance with the donor’s wishes as well as the charity’s purpose.

Responsible for handling cash/cheques presented by members of the public and ensuring that donations are paid in promptly to the financial accounts department so that official receipts can be provided.

To contribute to the formulation of the GEH Charity’s fundraising policy and ensure that fund raising activities comply with the policy.

To work with the communications team to publicise fundraising activities, both internally and externally.

Work with the communications team to prepare press releases, presentations and marketing literature to raise awareness of the charity and support income generation. Working with the communications team to ensure appropriate communications channels are utilised.

Manage information about the charity and fundraising activities on the Charity’s website, intranet and social media platforms by updating both of the content management systems.

Develop and implement a fundraising events calendar, identifying existing events and activities that the charity could support to maximise PR and revenue.

Deliver against income generation targets.

Build relationships with staff, senior managers, clinicians and fund holders across the Trust, identifying funding opportunities.

Prioritise workload and respond proactively to unpredictable changes in day to day activities.

Identify trusts & foundations, major donors and corporate supporters through mapping exercises.

Support in preparing case studies to support trust and grant applications.

Coordinate and manage donor recognition activities, including photo opportunities, social media and site visits.

Coordinate and lead community fundraising events, organise the set-up of equipment and be the main contact..

Represent the charity and organisation at events and conferences, seminars, meetings; be responsible for carrying and setting up and taking down equipment and promotional material.
