Job overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to lead the AGEM ‘National Clinical Registries and Audits’ Service; someone who has a drive and passion for developing and leading teams combined with solid leadership experience.

 

The applicant should possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to make a strategic vision a reality. We are looking for a proactive individual who will support the development of the clinical registries service, bringing together multiple teams and identifying opportunities for growth.

 

The role will require extensive stakeholder engagement and management and the ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders from a variety of different specialties such as technical and clinical.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide senior leadership for the AGEM Clinical Registries and audits portfolio, ensuring systems, processes and resources are delivering a timely and robust service.

 

They will work with the AD of BI, to develop and grow the clinical registries portfolio, working with NHSE and associated partners, to onboard new clinical registries and establish a robust and responsive delivery arm that can respond to the evolving needs of a range of clinical registries and audits, exploring opportunities for economies of scale, whilst encouraging a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. They will also focus on developing our existing clinical registries and audit offering, ensuring they remain best of breed and industry leading.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·         Work with the Associate Director of Business Intelligence to deliver a robust service - responsible for providing an efficient, effective, high quality professional and well-co-ordinated service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.

·         Provide strong leadership, role modelling AGEM values and establishing a productive and cohesive culture.

·         Identify opportunities to maximise the use of national clinical registry and audit data to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.

·         Ensure the service has robust governance in place, assuring outputs generated by the service are made available to relevant parties in a timely and robust manner.

·         Ensure effective governance is in place between Clinical Registries teams, NHS England and associated partners.

·         Provide pro-active leadership to the totality of the service and be the escalation point for all clinical registry team and senior customer base.

·         Ensure the service is resilient and responsive to evolving needs and has effective service management planning in place.

·         Utilise own initiative to develop a forward-thinking clinical registries and audit service that is optimally performant.

·         Undertake coordination and identification of shared requirements across all AGEM led registries and audits to drive efficiency.

·         Embed a culture of “US”, developing an AGEM clinical registry identity, where all team members feel part of that team and recognise their role and value whilst also ensuring we maintain the individual identity of each registry for external recognition and reputation.

Essential criteria
  • • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • • Experience in effective stakeholder engagement and management.
  • • Ability to work under pressure and to tight and often changing deadlines.
  • • Skills for delivering results through managing through others and using a range of levers in the absence of direct line management responsibility.
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience with an established clinical registry or audit
  • • Ability to carry out procurements for highly detailed, high value contracts that require analysis, comparison and assessment.
