This is an exciting development opportunity to join the team in the Resuscitation Service on a 12 month fixed-term/secondment. The post holder will support the Lead Resuscitation Practitioners in the organisation and delivery of resuscitation training and strategy.
Main duties of the job
This role has both clinical and educational elements, including the facilitation of adult resuscitation training to all staffing groups (including nursing, medical staff and allied health care professionals), and responding to medical assistance and cardiac arrest calls. There may also be opportunity to support the Paediatric Resuscitation Practitioner to deliver paediatric resuscitation training.
The role requires the post holder to work autonomously and flexibly to ensure that all resuscitation training is delivered to meet the needs of the service and optimise compliance.
The post holder will be required to participate in undertaking audits such as compliance with daily checking and stocking of cardiac arrest trolleys and will be involved in research where relevant. The post holder will be responsible for the organisation, set up and maintenance of resuscitation equipment used in the delivery of training. In addition they will provide and maintain an efficient and effective service which meets departmental, trust and national standards, policies and procedures.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Act professionally, maintaining accountability for own actions in accordance with the relevant codes/scope of Professional Conduct. Contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
2. Maintain an identifiable clinical presence and undertake relevant clinical activities to maintain own clinical competency.
3. Ensure that evidence-based practice is developed and implemented to improve patient care.
4. Manage and prioritise standard workload, escalating any issues to the Lead Resuscitation Practitioners when required.
5. Respond to adult cardiac arrests/medical emergencies which may involve activities such as performance of cardiac chest compressions.
6. Support staff during difficult situations during training and/or the clinical environment. Escalate issues when appropriate and use clinical incident reporting as appropriate.
