We require ambitious candidates who will provide excellence in helping develop this rapidly changing and important service. We are keen to appoint 2 Specialists Doctor in Clinical Oncology to join our team of 23 Clinical Oncologists and 2 Medical Oncologists at the UHCW NHS Trust, ie the Arden Cancer Centre, serving Coventry and the adjoining Cancer Units at South Warwickshire Foundation Trust (SWFT), George Eliot Hospital (GEH), Stratford Rigby Unit and Rugby Maple Unit.
These 10 PA (1.0 WTE) posts are based at the UHCW NHS Trust, Coventry.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary Lung or Neuro Oncology Team which includes Clinical Oncologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, chemotherapy nurses and radiographers. The post-holder will work in either Lung cancer or Neuro-Oncology and a second site and would join the relevant MDTs. Acute Oncology may also need covered.
Post-1: Neuro-Oncology at the UHCW, Lower-GI cancers at GEH, or any other tumour site TBC.
Post-2: Lung and thoracic malignancies at the UHCW and lung SABR.
The post is required to work alongside the consultants and lead the site-specialist services including facilities for inpatients and outpatients, dedicated chemotherapy suites and radiotherapy facilities. The appointee will support the Acute Oncology Service, the ward in–patient care and may contribute to the On Call rota if they desire. The post holder will be expected to provide cross cover for MDTs (videoconferencing is available) and to liaise with the Acute Physicians/Emergency department as part of the supporting the Acute Nurse Led Oncology Service and when on call. Patients will be treated in both the Arden Cancer Centre on the UH site, the Maple Unit on the St Cross Hospital, Rugby and the Dorothea Unit at the George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton.

Applicants require full GMC Registration and should have over 10 years of oncology experience in a middle-grade role, and MRCP(UK) or FRCR or MD is desirable.
