Job overview

Interviews are due to take place on 10th October 2024.

To provide, in collaboration with clinical colleagues, a comprehensive gynaecological cancer service to patients in the Coventry, Warwickshire and the former Arden Cancer Network and will assist in the development of the Centre to sub-speciality training recognition.

The emphasis of this post is to provide an expanded service, working some sessions at City of Coventry Health Centre and South Warwickshire Foundation Trust (SWFT), in addition to supporting the already established gynaecological oncology service at UHCW.  The successful candidate will ensure that high quality services are provided in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with national strategic targets, namely 2 week waits and 31/62 days referral to treatment and in line with Faster Diagnosis Targets.  All theatre provision is at University Hospital, Coventry alongside clinics and MDT with some outpatient clinics and MDT presence also at the other sites outlined above.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join a multi-disciplinary team including an established team of gynaecological oncologists, the lead for colposcopy services as well as a nursing team led by a Consultant Nurse. The job plan will be based initially on ten programmed activities and will include participation in the gynaecological on call rota.  Further amendments to the job plan will be in discussion with the Clinical Director and Group Director of Operations.
