Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for providing information across the Teams in the Trust on the accurate completion of fields within the clinical systems, and the wider implications of the accuracy of this data. To assist in the retrieval, collation, presentation and dissemination of data from any data system, as well as initiating and carrying out any data quality projects.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support with the data quality within all business critical clinical systems and should have a full understanding of main clinical systems within CWPT.

They will provide and receive complex data from business critical system and needs to be able to communicate data back to non information staff in 1 – 1 meetings and small groups.

Working knowledge of MS office functionality, particularly excel is required to fulfil the  responsibility in setting up, producing and validating a performance report and ensuring that it meets all requirements for information, services and commissioning.

Must be able to work on own initiative and within a team environment and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines while dealing with conflicting priorities should they arise.

Data Quality role sits within the Information and Systems team. The teams work collaboratively with the clinical  and  support services to ensure the data quality of patient's record on clinical system is kept up to date and that the key demographic and clinical information is updated in timely manner to support patient care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To provide and receive complex data from business critical system and to  be able to communicate data back to non information staff in 1 – 1 meetings and small groups
  • To have responsibility for data quality within all business critical clinical systems
  • To have a full understanding of all clinical systems within CWPT
  • To have responsibility in setting up, producing and validating data quality reports and ensuring that it meets all requirements for information, and services 
  •  Regular liaison with all levels of staff groups in relation to queries on the system and information
  •  Post holder will be required to use their own judgement when making decision; supervisor will be available for reference
  • Work carried out is based on SOP’s, there would be someone available if there are difficulties beyond the post holders knowledge/ scope
  • Required to work on own initiative and within a team environment. To be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines while dealing with conflicting priorities should they arise. 
  • The post holder will be expected to plan their own workload around the demands of the information department

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Must be computer literate to ECDL level or equivalent to diploma level

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Must have experience using Microsoft office packages
  • Must have experience of training staff on clinical systems
  • Must have experience of working within the NHS
  • Must have experience of working with a business critical system.
  • Proven experience of data quality initiatives would be desirable
  • Proven experience of performance monitoring would be desirable
