Job overview
Required to assist in the provision of Security Services in an extremely busy hospital environment.
The successful candidate will work within a team providing response to security incidents/alarm & fire calls throughout the site. Many response calls you will be required to attend can involve violent and/or aggressive scenarios. In addition, the role includes site patrols, handling of cash, dealing with and assisting the general public, traffic management across the site plus a range of additional duties.

Main duties of the job
- Candidates should be able to perform well within a team, show great enthusiasm and be flexible as the position will involve working on a rotary shift basis.
- Previous experience within a security role and an understanding of what this involves is required. Applicants must have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude towards their work.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To assist Trust management in the provision of effective / efficient Security
Services using all equipment / resources available to the department - To provide essential Fire and Rescue Team response to Helipad as required

Knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Use of electrical equipment including driving of tugs and use of hand-barrows.
- Knowledge of Trust sites an advantage.
- Knowledge of Portering / Security procedures / systems of operation
Skills
Essential criteria
- The post holder should be able to communicate well, have good writing skills and be able to work alone or as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Good keyboard skills / use of PC
Experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience in customer service.
- Portering / Security experience.
- Previous firefighting experience.
- Experience in other Security tasks such as the use of CCTV equipment, and has qualifications in the relevant areas
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- The post holder must hold a current Full manual UK driving licence and be comfortable driving light vans.
Desirable criteria
- NVQ or similar qualifications
