An exciting opportunity has arisen within NTW Solutions Ltd, in the role of a Mechanical Craftsperson to join our Estates Team at Northgate Hospital. The suitably qualified and experienced candidate will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team based within the Estates Department.

To undertake without routine supervision; planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and new installation work within healthcare premises on a variety of building services related systems, including:
Energy generating plant including boiler plant (steam & LPHW)
DHWS & CWS systems
Air compressors
Laundry and catering equipment
Drainage/sewerage
Ventilation plant
Air conditioning and refrigeration
BMS control systems
Electrical building services
Fault finding and repair of plant and equipment
Undertake Condition Surveys of Mechanical Systems and Mechanical Infrastructure within Healthcare Facilities

- Completion of a recognised mechanically bias engineering apprenticeship.
- Good knowledge of Estates maintenance
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Maintaining up to date knowledge on legislative development
- Good communicator
- Good self motivation
- Good time management
- Flexible approach to timekeeping
- Ability to prioritise workloads
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the post
Experience

- Broad experience of all related Estates activities – multi skilling
- Previous practical experience in mechanical engineering installation service maintenance and repair in at least 4 of the following areas: Laundry and catering equipment, Heating & boiler plant, Ventilation plant, Mechanical engineering services (bearing, gears, fittings, etc), Compressors, Steam boiler plant and associated distribution systems, Sewage and drainage systems, Other general building services equipment
- Experience of cross-trade working and flexibility on electrical maintenance and other trades
Qualifications

- 5 GCSE’s or equivalent
- City & Guilds in a mechanical related subject
- BTEC, HNC/HND or Approved Apprenticeship or City and Guilds or NVQ 3 Technicians Certificate or equivalent qualifications in relevant topic
