Job overview
Applications are invited from candidates who are suitably qualified and experienced in administrative duties and clerical work to offer administrative support to our busy adult Speech and Language Therapy team. The post will be based at the Oxford Centre in Longbenton, but may be required to work at other sites within the Trust.
The post would be suitable for staff who have completed a Business Admin Apprenticeship and/or staff looking to offer administrative support to a clinical community-based service.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work alongside assistant speech and language therapists and administrative officers to provide a comprehensive clerical and secretarial service to the team of speech and language therapists working in the community and hospital sites.
The main duties of this post will involve answering telephone queries from patients / professionals, booking appointments, sending out clinical correspondence and maintaining admin systems including Systmone. Other varied duties include handling post, photocopying, filing and typing clinical correspondence. IT skills in the use of Microsoft products would be an advantage alongside word processing experience and knowledge of Systmone.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking for a highly organised individual, who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our admin team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly, dynamic, innovative service that prides itself on high quality care and positive patient and staff experience.
The post holder must be able to use their own initiative, work under pressure, keep to strict deadlines and have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. The post holder will access regular support and supervision from the Office Manager and be part of a small, experience administrative team.
