Trosolwg o'r swydd

We are seeking an innovative and committed clinician to join this well-established domiciliary physiotherapy team.

We are a city wide physiotherapy service who has a central base at the Kenton Centre. We are a team of physiotherapists, Associate Practitioners, Technical Instructors and administration staff, providing physiotherapy assessment and input into patients’ own homes.

The successful applicant will have a broad clinical background post registration, to include musculoskeletal, elderly care, neurology and respiratory care where possible. The successful applicant should have good communication skills and be committed to multi-disciplinary networking and be independently responsible for the provision of home based assessment, planning, development and therapeutic intervention. Hence, ensuring an integrated and holistic approach working alongside other professionals within the primary, secondary and social care services.

- Independently manage a caseload of patients and liaising with family and health and social care professionals as required.

-Attend and actively participate in team in-service training within the team.

- Take responsibility for own CPD

-Supervise other members of the team as delegated by the team lead.

- Participate in Service Development.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

To work as part of the physiotherapy team within Domiciliary Physiotherapy delivering a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to patients within the speciality area. 

To be responsible for a caseload of complex patients within the designated work area working without direct supervision.

To plan organise and deliver physiotherapy care to these patients.

To prioritise own clinical caseload organising care effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical and other priorities and use of time.

To undertake comprehensive specialist assessment of physiotherapy needs of patients including those with diverse and complex presentations.

To evaluate and monitor patient progress adjusting treatment programmes
accordingly ensuring treatment is carried out in the most appropriate and effective way and to the highest possible standard.

To motivate and encourage patients active participation in all aspects of their physiotherapy care.

To carry out all duties in accordance with the requirements of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and trust policies and procedures.

Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay

  • Experience of working with patients with physical health problems e.g. stroke, mobility problems
  • Experience of community working

Qulaifications
