This is a 12 months post for maternity cover.
This is an exciting opportunity for a those in position ready to step up into Management roles and strengthen leadership skills. The post-holder will be supported by Outpatient Pharmacy and the Homecare service Supervisors, a Procurement Technician, and Administrative support.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent team leadership and management skills. Experience within a Pharmacy setting is not essential for this role - full onsite training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
To undertake the duties of a Pharmacy Manager.
You will be responsible for leading the service teams effectively and directly through QEF Supervisors.
The post-holder will support the Superintendent/Head of Pharmacy Services to deliver the principals and standards of a GPhC registered Pharmacist site covering all daily activities.
This role requires the support and maintenance of our Quality Standards and upholding Patient Safety. You will be accountable for the completion of staff training and inductions, managing sickness attendance, appraisals, and the planning of staff rotas to ensure adequate safe levels with appropriate supervision.
Working for our organisation
QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.
We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).
In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.
QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.
QEF is a separate legal entity that operates along commercial lines, with separate governance arrangements and the ability to recruit its own staff on its own Terms & Conditions to provide greater flexibility. QEF has been established on the solid foundations of the NHS and is able to provide a flexible, proactive range of high quality services, delivered on the lines of a commercial organisation.
We do not hold a sponsorship license and are unable to offer employment under any sponsorship arrangement.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills. Have the ability to deal with patients, Service Line Managers, Speciality Managers, Prescribers and other healthcare professionals
- Demonstrate and promote excellent Customer Service skills
- Demonstrate effective organisational and motivational skills
- Up to date knowledge and experience of standards and regulations relating to the supply of medicines from a GPhC registered Pharmacy
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrate appropriate IT skills
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant Service Delivery and Team Management experience
Desirable criteria
- Dispensing Pharmacy / Assistant experience in Hospital Pharmacy or Community Pharmacy
Qualifications

- NHS internal training relating to HR policies and procedures e.g. Manager Recruitment Training Assistants or a Community Pharmacy dispensing qualification

- Pharmacy Service Skills NVQ Level 2 (QCF) Qualification for Dispensing / Pharmacy Assistants or a Community Pharmacy dispensing qualification
