We care passionately about our staff – ‘our people’ – are the heart of our organisation.  Our vision is to make the Trust the best place to work, and we believe the people who work and volunteer for us make the difference between good care and excellent care.

And our workforce agrees!  In the 2021 national NHS Staff Survey, our staff told us they would recommend the Trust to others as a great place to work.

While they told us patient care is of course their priority, our staff ranked the trust among the top 25 in the country – well above the national average and outperforming other Trusts in areas such as:

  • Equality and diversity – we were ranked above average in terms of acting fairly when it came to career progression or promotion, with nearly 90% of staff agreeing that we treat them fairly, regardless of people’s ethnic background, sexual orientation, age or gender.
  • Recommending the Trust as a place for care or treatment
  • Feeling that your role makes a difference to patients
  • Involvement in decisions that affect your team or area
  • Feeling safe at work
