Job overview

The single point of access (SPA) is a multiagency triage service that is responsible for referrals to a number of getting help and the getting more help services within Newcastle and Gateshead. 

The team is based in Bensham Hospital and are often but not exclusively triaging telephone calls or paper referrals that are sent to the service. The team will often support with safeguarding matters and gather more information to support the most appropriate onward referral. 

The role of the clinical lead within this team is to support the day to day running to the team through supervision, close analysis of the clinical dashboards, 

Main duties of the job

The role of clinical lead within this service would be to help and support the day to day running of the team, ensuring clinical effectiveness.

The clinical lead would be responsible for supervision sessions, reviewing the clinical dashboards and maintaining relationships with partner agencies. 

The clinical lead would be expected to contribute to service development and be a strong decision maker.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic person, who is able to work well under pressure, is resourceful and has a keen interest in children and young peoples services.

As a clinical lead, you should be adept in establishing effective working relationships with colleagues, and wider organisations, supporting engagement with interface meetings, whilst promoting collaborative working relationships.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Registered Learning Disability Nurse (as appropriate) or equivalent relevant professional qualification
  • Relevant training to clinical leadership or significant experience in the clinical field.
  • Mentorship Qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of coordinating and managing staff resources.
  • Experience of working with statutory partner agencies.
  • Knowledge & Experience of the Recovery Model.
  • Proven track record of providing professional leadership within clinical services.
  • MDT working.
  • Clinical supervision and Application. Adherence to Health and Safety policies.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of leadership
  • Prior experience of working within Children's and young Peoples services.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate leadership skills/delegation. Excellent communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict management
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of RiO data systems and IT skills
