The role will involve the daily supervision of a large group of staff. It will involve attending wards and departments to complete audits to ensure that cleanliness levels are maintained. You will conduct appraisals, return to work interviews and training of new staff etc.

Hotel services is a  fast paced department. You will need to be a self motivated individual who thrives in both working alone and also within a team.

You must lead by example at all times. We have extremely high standards in our Trust and we rely on our supervisors to help ensure this is maintained.

You will be required to work bank holidays.

This role involves the supervision of a team of Domestic Assistants to ensure cleaning to a high standard in all areas within the Freeman Hospital and external clinics. Previous experience as a Domestic Assistant in the NHS or similar environment would be preferred although full training will be given.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

  • To be responsible for the supervision of cleaning methods and frequencies in a designated area of the hospital, ensuring that the required standards are achieved.
  • To supervise the domestic assistants, to ensure that their duties are carried out safely and using correct procedures and materials at frequencies laid down in the specification of work.
  • Also the training of domestics to use machinery and the correct methods of cleaning.
  • To ensure timely completion of PLB/appraisals for domestic staff.
  • To ensure all mandatory training is completed on time.

Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay.
