Job overview

We are excited to offer the opportunity for someone with a passion for paediatric dietetics to join our team!  This is a new post funded to develop a service with the Adferiad team.  You will work as part of the team supporting children presenting with Long Covid, other post viral and fatiguing conditions, chronic pain and other similar conditions.

This is a permanent, part time role. The post will be based alongside the MDT but you will be required to travel to other sites to deliver clinics and home visits as needed.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with excellent communication skills. The new team will be multidisciplinary (dietetics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology and Paediatrician) and will have a generic therapy assistant practitioner and administration support.

You will have close working relationships with the Paediatric Dietetic team based in Morriston Hospital. You will draw on your experience of working with children and young people to autonomously manage your caseload, providing a high standard of assessment and management.

You will support the supervision and mentoring of junior members of staff, Placement 1, 2 and 3 student dietitians and support workers and assistant practitioners, delegating duties as necessary and providing the appropriate level of support at all times.

We offer both departmental and personal CPD time to support your development and share best practice. Our Department is committed to the development of evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit and you will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings, interest groups and CPD opportunities as well as having an annual appraisal.

We have good support from administrative staff and Dietetic Assistants. The Health Board has University status with Colleges of Medicine on site.

Please contact [email protected] for more information.
