An exciting opportunity has arisen within Swansea Bay University Health Board for a dietitian to join the Public Health Dietetics team. 

The post is permanent, part time working 22.5 hours per week and will be based in Port Talbot Resource Centre. You will join a small passionate team of registered dietitians and support staff. Experience of delivery of accredited education programmes and assessment and quality assurance is desirable.  

Main duties of the job

The team focus on health promotion and prevention, to improve the health and wellbeing of local people and future generations. The team works with partners to build the capacity of communities, working through our Nutrition Skills for Life programmes to support healthy lifestyles and prevent malnutrition. Our aim is to equip community-based staff with evidence-based food and nutrition knowledge and skills, so they can incorporate key nutrition messages into their work. 

The post holder will have an interest in both Public Health and working with communities. You will be an excellent communicator and understand some of the challenges our population might experience. You will deliver training to community-based staff and support the delivery of innovative and exciting nutrition interventions in the community to a range of population groups across Neath Port Talbot and Swansea. 

We offer both departmental and personal CPD time to support your development and are committed to the development of evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit. You will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings, interest groups and relevant CPD opportunities.
