Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. Participation in the newly developed prehabilitation service for suspected cancer patients will be integral to this job. Therefore, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, adaptable and highly motivated individual, capable of developing the pharmacy service we deliver.

Main duties of the job

One of the main duties will be to work with the existing lead pharmacist to expand the prehabilitation service provided to patients attending the Rapid Diagnostic Centre. This requires the ability to provide high level patient focussed medication and lifestyle reviews for patients with complex polypharmacy issues.

The post holder will participate in and further develop skills in the established pharmacist led anticoagulant clinics.

Ideally, they will be a qualified non-medical prescriber and will be actively prescribing.

The role will also involve ward-based working with clinicians, nursing staff, pharmacy colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients.

The post holder will also participate in dispensary duties and provide clinical leadership to junior pharmacists and trainees.

The role will require the ongoing completion of core directorate activities including analysis of medicines expenditure, clinical governance audits and risk management.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
